IndieJúnior Allianz 2021 kicks-off this Wednesday!

Until Sunday, Casa das Artes do Porto, Maus Hábitos and Reitoria da Universidade do Porto are the meeting points for a film programme and conversations that looks to different possibilities of cinema thought and created for young people. In total, there are around 50 films, from shorts to feature films, that look at themes and interests dear to different age groups.

The first day is marked by a session of Cinema à Mesa, that takes place in Maus Hábitos cultural space, where films for 13 olds and over will be shown, under the premise of a trip Between Youth and Adulthood. On the 20th, there is place for the proposals of the session Thinking, Being, Acting (15+), from 7pm at Casa das Artes. Friday, May 21st, we walk Step by Step, in a session with films for 12 olds and over. For the weekend, four sessions for the whole family, taking place in the morning and afternoon, at Casa das Artes do Porto.

We also highlight the three feature films in the international competition, Alice Junior (Friday, may 21, 8:30pm, Casa das Artes), Fritzi – A Revolutionary Tale (Saturday, May 22 , 5:30pm, Casa das Artes) e Bonjour le monde! (Sunday, May 23, 4pm, Casa das Artes).

On May 19, at 6pm, the Reitoria da Universidade do Porto receives a debate around the theme There is no Planet B, with the participation of young ecologists from Porto involved in the organisations Greve Climática Estudantil Porto, Zero Waste Youth and Extinction Rebellion. The conversation is centered in themes such as global warming, environmental student movements  and the questions raised by the film Normal, by Julie Caty, which will be exhibited during the session.
