Baby Cinema (Lap Cinema) returns to the festival, this time in the incredible Novo Ático room, at Coliseu. It is called so because the lap is the place where we begin to know the world, at the same time warm and carried by our parents. This very special cinema room is in a warm and comfortable place, where babies can explore the space and enjoy their first images seen on a big screen, together with their parents.
This space, similar to a tent by the water and the woods, was designed by Maria Eugênia Cavaggioni and Bárbara Costa, students of ESMAE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo), and also developed with the collaboration of teacher Marta Silva. We have chosen short films – stories full of colour and stimulating sounds – with surprising projections, in a space that allows the child to react and move safely.
A first time that will be an unforgettable joint discovery by parents and children of the magic of the cinema.

This year, for the first time in the history of the festival, there will also be space for a workshop for babies: Entre Poças e Borrifos. Water, colour, sound and other sensorial elements will turn this micro workshop into a show that will arouse sensations and laughter in parents and babies. An unmissable moment in the most welcoming cinema room in Porto by the hand of A Porta Amarela, an artistic mediation project.

Each workshop ticket costs 7,5 euros and includes 1 baby and up to 2 accompanying adults. In the case of the cinema sessions, the ticket is 4€ and is also valid for 1 child and up to 2 accompanying adults (only one ticket per child should be purchased). Babies under 6 months old and children over 2 and a half years old are not recommended.
The seventh edition of IndieJunior Porto – International Children and Youth Film Festival will take place from January 23rd to 29th at Batalha Film Center, at Almeida Garrett Library, Casa das Artes, Coliseu Porto Ageas, Maus Hábitos and Rectory of Universidade do Porto.
