Elliot, a lonely ten year old boy, discovers a little alien who he calls E.T. Elliot lures E.T. into his room using a trail of candy and ends up gaining his trust. He introduces his new friend to his sixteen year old brother, Michael, and to his five year old sister, Gertie. What they don’t know is that the bond between Elliot and E.T. is bigger than their friendship – they both feel the emotions and thoughts of one another. When E.T.’s health starts deteriorating, Elliot and his brothers have to find a way to help their friend and to make him go back home before the government agents find them.
