Films, workshops, a debate and a …ball dance. It’s IndieJúnior Allianz 2018

And today we presented the entire programme of the 2018 edition of IndieJúnior Allianz, which is also available at indiejunior.com

There are more than 50 films, including short and feature films, ranging from fiction to documentary and animation, from around the world. We pay special attention to the youngest and introduce themes for the whole family. The experience of the first kiss (How Tommy Lemenchick Became a Grade 7 Legend), how friendship helps to overcome obstacles (Heads Together), the unique relationship between grandchildren and grandparents (Footsteps) and life in refugee camps (Hello Salaam) are some of the issues that go through this year’s programme. Creativity and imagination are not forgotten and receive a very special stimulus in, for example, Ant.

To prolong the learning that can be extracted from the films, IndieJúnior Allianz also organizes a series of parallel activities. A debate on a very current topic: “When gender identity does not match the gender that was attributed at birth,” from the film Mrs. McCutcheon and with the participation of psychologists and testimonies in the first person.

Workshops where parents and children share moments of creation and are guided by a director, a plastic artist and a cultural mediator can also be found in our programme. And also meetings between filmmakers and spectators to bring closer together who directs with those who see and interpret the films.

In a major involvement with schools, IndieJúnior Allianz also challenged young people and children to get to know the backstage of the festival and to be an active part of its organization. Some have chosen films that can now be seen by the public, in the screenings “I program a film festival”; others face the always difficult, albeit exciting, task of choosing the best film of the festival (“Schools Award for Best Film”). In an authentic marathon, they will walk from screening to screening, from the Allies to the Gardens of the Crystal Palace.

Thinking about you and your family we also offer a moment of relaxation: on Saturday, between the two afternoon screenings at Rivoli, you can dance and shake the body in a ball dance for all, from 8 to 80 years old. A dance matinee full of good vibes. Like IndieJúnior Allianz!
