Sea view and more than 7,000 spectators and 24 sold-out sessions

After 2 years facing audience and programming limitations during the pandemic, IndieJunior Porto’s seventh anniversary, which took place between January 23rd and 29th, 2023, was celebrated in a beautiful party that proves that cinema is more alive than ever. And that we need it.

It was 7 days of many meetings, stories, learning and reflections on various important themes for the most varied audiences that passed through the spaces where the festival took place: Batalha Film Center, Almeida Garrett Library, Casa das Artes, Coliseu Porto Ageas, Maus Hábitos and the rectory of U.Porto. Friendship, creativity, relationships, overcoming, trust, traditions, weather, human behavior, conflicts, intimacy, sexuality, growth, memory and family are some examples of this sea of themes that made the students, teachers and families pass by.

We thank each one of the 7,078 spectators who filled the movie theaters and sold out 24 movie sessions and 90% of the workshops, bringing life to this edition and optimism for the future of an increasingly better festival. And also to all the partners who were essential for this edition to be possible.

IndieJunior – International Children and Youth Film Festival returns to Porto in late January 2024, stronger than ever.

See you soon 🙂
