An edition that fits in the palm of your hand.

2 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 5

At a glance we reached the 5th edition, a handful of reasons to think, in a programme that this year points to notions like freedom, fun, ecology, family and art!

It is time to readapt to the moment we live in, with the necessary resilience and joy. So, IndieJunior Allianz – Porto International Children and Youth’s Film Festival, will firstly go to schools during the months of April and May, bringing a world full of ideas and dreams directly to the classroom. Secondly, it will be the families’ turn to enjoy the session, at Casa das Artes, Maus Hábitos and Reitoria da Universidade do Porto, from May 19th to 23rd, on the return to the occupation of the city’s cultural spaces.

This is a fifth edition full of new films, fresh partnerships, and many young programmers. The festival programme presents, among other proposals, a competition that this year includes 50 films, including short and feature films, fictions, documentaries and animations. As usual, some of these films were chosen by children and young people aged 6 to 18, from four schools in Porto (Grouping of Schools Carolina Michaelis, Secondary School of Almeida Garrett, Colégio Luso-Francês and Osmope), as part of the initiative I Program a Film Festival, organised in partnership with the Parallel Program of Teatro Rivoli. In 2021, the activity has renewed partnerships: the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave and the Professional School of Centro Juvenil de Campanhã.

From May 19th to 23rd we’ll see you in the city’s venues to watch films on the big screen, whilst for now, we start in April with a programme for schools which meets the film community of all ages.

See you soon!
