Five months ago, the seventh edition of IndieJúnior Porto was filling Porto’s cinemas with curious eyes on the screen. We now start the journey to an even more special edition of IndieJúnior Porto, which returns in 2024 full of news. The 8th International Children’s and Youth Film Festival of Porto will take place from January 22 to 28, 2024, and we want to see your films!

We are looking for recent short films (produced in 2022, 2023 or 2024), of any genre. The rules and entry form with all the necessary information is available at filmfreeway.com/indiejunior. Call for entries are open until October 14, 2023. Submissions with special early bird price are available until the July 19.

IndieJúnior Porto is a film festival for children, teenagers and all those interested in this universe and themes, with segmented programs for families and schools.

Besides other sections, the festival includes an international competition, where three prizes are awarded: IndieJúnior Porto Grand Prize (jury composed of cinema professionals), Award for Best Impact Film (professional and school jury) and Audience Award (public vote).

The programme includes animation, fiction and documentary films in a careful programme, taking into account the audience to which it is aimed: +3 years, +6 years, +10 years, +12 years and +15 years and in the case of schools: pre-school, 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles and secondary.
